Low Pressure Atomizing Nozzle Technology
For full Patent description enter the US patent number 6,866,207 into USPTO search box.
This new spray technology offers potentially a fully adjustable flow from zero to capacity without impact to spray pattern. Accordingly, various thickness films - with or without material particles - could be sprayed at high speed evenly over large areas. As the dispersion flow and power are fully controllable even the most fragile particles can be handled without breaking them prematurely. This nozzle is also powerful enough to disintegrate even high viscosity liquids at ease. Dryad Technology, Inc., has acquired nonexclusive license
Key Applications could be:
High capacity fuel burner with true excess air control - minimizes the energy loss into excess air
It can burn small solid particles such as coal, wood, rubber, etc., all mixed with carrying fuel
A wide variety of systems where liquids must be "atomized" regardless of their viscosity (1).
A high intensity chemicals reactor to mix two chemicals with a reactive motive gas or just two chemicals in presence of an inert gas
A low temperature "distillation" - a true vapor phase separation
An automatic sprinkler system where CO2 is be used as motive gas to create a "two punch" fire extinguishing system with CO2 and water
A high capacity evaporation system
A snow maker
(1) Dryad Technology, Inc., has acquired the rights to use the nozzle technology for paper surfacing applications in the Paper Industry.
