Managed the operation and maintenance of the energy utility systems and environmental treatment systems that supported a production of over 3000 tons per day of fiber products, a chlorine plant, hydrogen peroxide plant and a diversified wood products operation. Directed a 150 employee department that included process engineering and environmental functions and produced 2 million pounds of steam per hour from black liquor, hog fuel, gas, coal, and effluent solids; treated 60 million gallons of effluent per day and distributed 260 MW of electricity per hour.

Southwest Washington Region Energy Manager

Implemented a Kraft pulping improvement activity that increased production by 20% with minimum capital expenditure. Initiated and managed a major waste water treatment project that provided capacity for a 25% production increase. Developed and implemented a fuels management project and a thermal energy conservation program that resulted in a savings of over 250,000 lbs per hour of steam use and reduced steam costs by 40%. Initiated and managed the centralization of the controls for a large recovery boiler, lime kiln and recausticizing process, power boilers and turbine generators.
